Wind and rain coming

Wet, windy weather is on the way. A front is developing in the Tasman Sea and pushing eastwards towards New Zealand, and is preceded by a strong and moist north to northeasterly flow. It’s forecast to bring unsettled northwesterlies and periods of heavy rain to some western areas for the latter part of today and into tomorrow. It’s expected to bring a period of heavy rain to western and northern parts of the South Island, including parts of Buller, Nelson and Marlborough. A period of strong north to northeasterly winds is expected ahead of the front.
