Transport hub opens

A $69 million transport hub in South Auckland providing a ‘‘vital link’’ to the airport has opened its doors to the public. Hundreds of locals flocked to Puhinui Station at a public open day yesterday to explore the new bus and rail interchange that promises ‘‘faster, more frequent and easier’’ connections to Auckland Airport. The site in Papatoetoe had been closed for construction since September 2019 and services will begin running tomorrow.
