Superficial criticism
‘‘When are we going to admit that New Zealand’s Covid-19 vaccine roll-out is not going to plan?’’ asks Andrea Vance (Sunday Politics, July 18). She follows with a roll call of people whom she apparently thinks should have been vaccinated but haven’t. Almost in passing she mentions that the official explanation for the slow roll-out is lack of supply. Then it’s back to problems here and there including that ‘‘Wellingtonians
. . . are confused . . . and frustrated ...’’
She doesn’t speak for this Wellingtonian, and I don’t detect confusion or frustration in my friends, who, like me, are mostly nearer 80 than 70. I’m more frustrated by the endless beat-up of the roll-out.
If the problem is the vaccine pipeline, all the blather about this or that group is just polishing the taps – a diversion. So is supply the issue or not?
Can we please ignore the superficial and dig into real problems?
