Gully delayed again
The opening date for Wellington’s Transmission Gully has been delayed due to Covid-19, and a new date is yet to be confirmed. Waka Kotahi NZTA said yesterday the contractor and subcontractor had advised that alert level restrictions and supply chain constraints meant they could not meet the planned opening date of September 27. The 27-kilometre motorway project has faced numerous hurdles. The initial planned opening date was April last year, and costs have blown out from $850 million to $1.25 billion.
