Queenstown with Ability Adventures
Former occupational therapist Marina Hanger set up this bespoke company 13 years ago to allow disabled travellers to see New Zealand. That can range from helping travellers with personal care to activities for wheelchair users, slow walkers or blind guests.
Queenstown is one of the most popular destinations for Hanger’s tours and includes visits to wineries, especially the accessible Gibbston Valley Winery, and a trip on the Earnslaw to Walter Peak Station, where gravel paths mean wheelchair users can watch sheep be shorn.
Other highlights include a visit to iFly Indoor Skydiving Queenstown, where Hanger says staff are great at helping disabled guests.
