Stokes back in nets

New Zealand-born England all-rounder Ben Stokes has been back in the nets for the first time since taking a break from cricket to prioritise his mental wellbeing. A video posted on Stokes’ social media channels showed the 30-year-old facing throw-downs from England cricket team physiotherapist Craig De Weyman. ‘‘It’s casual clothes training on a Thursday . . .,’’ Stokes wrote. In another post, Stokes, who has not played since July, said it was ‘‘great to be back hitting balls’’. Stokes’ video will further fuel speculation that he could potentially be a late call-up for England’s Ashes tour of Australia.
