Ko well placed in France

Lydia Ko is in third place going into the final day of the Evian Championship, a LPGA major title she last won six years ago. The New Zealander carded a three-under 68 in the third round at Evian-Les-Bains in France yesterday, but is six shots off the lead. Ko had birdies on the third, seventh and 15th holes, leading television commentators to warn ‘‘she has nothing to lose – look out [for] Lydia’’ on the final day of the season’s last major. South Korean’s Jeongeun Lee6 shot a 66 to create a five-shot lead over the United States’ Yealimi Noh, who has a oneshot lead over Ko.
