EVs v utes
Peter Gardner, Hamilton
The ongoing discussion around reducing emissions by buying electric vehicles instead of fossil-fuelled vehicles is interesting to the point that it suggests farmers and tradies should change to electric, which currently there is no alternative. I am part of another large group who own a ute for recreational purposes – to tow a caravan around our beautiful country. This includes hundreds, if not thousands of diesel RV owners doing the same which also helps the economy. So, until there is some cost equivalent and capable EV vehicle to tow my 2-tonne caravan, I will happily continue to travel and enjoy this country.
