Te Aho Tapu Hou: The new sacred thread is currently on at the Waikato Museum and showcases distinctive garments designed by Jeanine Clarkin (Nga¯ti Hako, Nga¯ti Pa¯oa, Nga¯ti Ranginui, Nga¯ti Raukawa). Clarkin’s work is well known within the international indigenous fashion community. Her garments bring to life her inspiring journey as a designer committed to celebrating her Ma¯ori identity. The exhibition finishes on October 31.
