Required reading

Janet Wilson’s article in last week’s (Saturday September 18) paper should be required reading for National Party MPs and selectors.

Over the years I have watched with dismay the appalling choice of photogenic, mouthy, not quite the brightest of males stand for election in safe National seats.

We have all seen the results of that policy. Until National re-assess their selection procedures to choose only the brightest, progressive (not best looking) people they will become irrelevant.
