Wedding postponed over couple’s contact concerns

AWest Coast couple have postponed their wedding after the groom and his stag party came into close contactwith a person who had Covid19. The man and his friends travelled to Nelson lastweekend. By Wednesday, they were notified that they were close contacts of a Covid case, forcing them to self-isolate for up to 10 days. The bride-to-be declined to comment, but in a message to guests, seen by Stuff, she said the choice to postpone had been ‘‘taken out of our hands’’ and the couple were ‘‘heartbroken’’ to have to make the decision. As of 1pm yesterday, 14 people in Nelson had tested positive for Covid19. There are more than 20 locations of interest in the area. Among them is Secrets Gentlemen’s Club, a brothel and strip club, which is now closed. Those linked to it are isolating for 10 days, its owner says. A stag do is thought to have visited the strip club, but it is unclear whether it is the group linked to the postponed wedding. The Ministry of Health is asking anyone who visited the club between 5.30pm last Saturday and 3am on Sunday to self-isolate and get tested immediately.
