Top four found in women’s interclub

The top four have earned their place in the playoffs of the women’s interclub competition.

The final round was last Saturday and the women’s grade has now reached the playoffs, to be held at Palmerston North on December 18.

There is one round remaining in the men’s competition, with only four spots up for grabs. Takaro lead the standings on 117 points, with

North End Grey second on 90, Palmerston North third on 82, Johnston Park fourth on 70 and North End Black fifth on 63.

Takaro will the host the playoff on December 19.

The top four have been found in the division two men’s playoffs at Takaro on December 18. In game one Takaro will play North End and Hokowhitu will play Palmerston North Blue.

Foxton and Beach look odds on to win the division three grade. In the 1-5 year competition, North End Black look set to host the finals on

December 19.

Elizabeth Walker standings: Palmerston North Gold 18, Palmerston North Blue 18, Ashhurst 15.

Skoglund triples standings: Section one: Johnston Park White 24, Palmerston North Gold 22, North End Grey 22.

Section two: Palmerston North Blue 18, Palmerston North Black 16, Takaro Orange 16.

This weekend the Manawatu¯ centre pairs are being played at Hokowhitu, Palmerston North, North End and Johnston Park.

Tomorrow women at Hokowhitu, men at Johnston Park. Teams who look a good chance of performing well in the women’s section are Honey Giblett, Sharon Sims, Sheryn Blake and Erika Goldsworthy.

Some of the teams to beat in the men’s competition include Philip Skoglund, Pat Horgan, Tim Hook, Shane Rogers and Ian Monaghan.
