Bangladesh star out of tour

Bangladesh will be without star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan for their two-test tour of New Zealand. Shakibwas initially named in the squad but requested to miss the tour, which starts on New Year’s Daywith the first test in Mount Maunganui, andwas granted permission by the Bangladesh board. The 34-year-oldmissed Bangladesh’s white-ball tour of New Zealand inMarch due to paternity leave and missed two tests against Sri Lanka in April to play in the IPL.
