3x3 teams qualify

New Zealand will have men’s and women’s teams involved in the 3x3 basketball format at next year’s Commonwealth Games – the first time the sport has featured at the event. The New Zealand teams qualified through an official FIBA points-based system. 3×3 basketball is played with just one hoop on a half-court. The width of the court is exactly the same as the full-court game but differs in that the length is only 11 metres. The game lasts for 10 minutes with no halftime or quarters. Teams are made up of three players on the court, instead of the usual five.
