One trapped, road blocked

Two cars collided at the intersection of Rongotea Rd and State Highway 1 at about 5.35pm last night, blocking the intersection. Fire and Emergency confirmed a personwas trapped in their vehicle before being air-lifted to hospital with serious injuries. The southbound lane of SH1was blocked, with traffic diverted up Rongotea Rd.
