Smoke testing for pipes
Vapour testing of the wastewater networks in Sanson and Rongotea is to be carried out over the next two months. Also known as smoke testing, the method is used to detect leaks and other forms of damage to pipes. A Manawatū District Council spokesperson said it was nontoxic to humans, animals, and plants, but there was a chance the vapour could cause some minor respiratory irritation.
