Proclaimers to play Blenheim during national tour in 2023

Popular Scottish duo The Proclaimers have announced a New Zealand tour of nine centres for next March.

The tour will begin in Oamaru on

March 14, then visit Dunedin, Christchurch and Blenheim before travelling to the North Island to play Wellington, Palmerston North, Hastings and Auckland, before closing in Hamilton on March 26.

Twins Charlie and Craig Reid will perform with a four-piece band, playing hits including I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles), I’m On My Way, Sunshine on Leith and Letter From America, and other songs from across their career, including tunes from the new album Dentures Out.

Auckland duo The Bads (Brett Adams and Dianne Swann) will open all nine concerts, including the ASB Theatre gig in Blenheim on Saturday, March 18.

Pre-sale tickets are on sale from Tuesday, October 4.

Kicking off a 14-month world tour with a main stage appearance at the Isle of Wight Festival in June, followed by a series of summer festivals and regional concerts, The Proclaimers have nearly sold out all 35 dates on their upcoming UK and Ireland tour between October and December.

The Reid brothers emerged 31 years ago with their debut album This Is The Story and hit single Letter From America.
