Nearly 300 new Covid-19 cases in top of south

The Ministry of Health reported 283 new Covid-19 cases in the top of the south yesterday.

It follows 308 cases in NelsonMarlborough on Thursday, and 356 on Wednesday.

Nationally, there were 6862 new cases announced by the ministry yesterday and 350 people in hospital, including 10 in intensive care units.

In Nelson-Marlborough, 11 people were in hospital, up from nine on Thursday.

The ministry also announced the deaths of 25 more people with Covid19 around the country. None were in Nelson or Marlborough.

Nelson Marlborough Health, which has different figures to the ministry because of different reporting times, recorded 316 new

Covid-19 cases on Thursday. They included 106 in Nelson, 38 in Richmond, 30 in Motueka/Moutere, 10 in Golden Bay, 29 in other parts of Tasman District, 80 in Blenheim, 13 in Picton and eight in other areas of Marlborough.
