Ukraine war

Les Kitching Stoke, May 16

Shame, shame, shame on you, Mr Putin, and all of your murderous subservient puppets. Overnight, it seems, you turned Ukraine into a battlefield, resulting in unparalleled devastation, and the indiscriminate killing of innocent people, forcing residents to leave their bombed-out homes and having to somehow build a new life in an environment of disbelief, chaos and uncertainty.

So disheartening just to see the despair and desperation on the faces of the thousands and thousands of mothers, fathers and their children, lining up in a seemingly endless queue having to endure the freezing weather, snow falling, in an attempt to get out of their home country, the country they were born in, the country they love. We see images akin to the Blitz of World War II. Unbelievable.

I had a strange dream recently when I saw you, Mr Putin, inspecting all of your missiles – you know, the ones you have saved up for Ukraine. I saw you with a large black pen writing in big letters on each and every one of them: ‘‘From Russia With Love.’’ Love? The content of my dream took hypocrisy to a new level. Shame, shame, shame on you.
