A newly elected United States congressman passed out grenades yesterday to other members of Congress. Accompanying a letter from Florida Republican Cory Mills on his office letterhead, emphasising that the ordnance was made in Florida, was an inert 40mm grenade stamped with the GOP logo, according to a photograph posted on Twitter by Daily Mail reporter Morgan Phillips. Visitors to the US Capitol in Washington, DC are prohibited from bringing firearms, weapons and explosive devices. Lawmakers are exempt from the ban on carrying guns on the Capitol grounds, and may keep guns in their offices, but they cannot bring guns into the House and Senate chambers.
