Primary teachers cancel strike action

Primary school teachers have called off strike action proposed for this Wednesday, as they wait for a revised offer from the Government. In an email sent to teachers, the NZEI said Minister of Finance Grant Robertson has agreed to meet with the union tomorrow to discuss the settlement. It expected to receive the terms of the agreement later in the day, to take to teachers on Wednesday. The union said schools may still close on Wednesday afternoon so that staff can attend a paid union meeting.
