Colac Bay/O¯ raka

Drive 10 minutes’ west from Riverton to reach Colac Bay/ O¯ raka, which is so beloved by surfers of every ability that the Colac Bay Classic surf competition is held there annually. If surfing isn’t your thing, the northern end of the bay is good for swimming, horse riding or fishing. You might even see Stewart Island.
