Bridge protesters arrested

Eleven people have been arrested after stopping their vehicles on Auckland Harbour Bridge during a protest. Waitemata¯ District Commander Superintendent Naila Hassan said police had been negotiating for days to deter them from their plan to walk across the bridge. An agreement was eventually reached for protesters to drive at a set speed to adhere to public safety. However, several drove at slow speeds and exited their vehicle to walk. One of the organisers said the group was planning to make their way to Wellington for a h¯ıkoi on Three Waters reforms.
