The best pop-ups at Wellington on a Plate
Plant Power by Bangs
Inspired by the hippie movement of the 1960s, plant-based Bangs is taking the helm at Burger Liquor on Willis St, to throw a plantpowered party. On Tuesday and Wednesday, groove to 60s classics from Jimi Hendrix to The Grateful Dead while enjoying food and cocktails inspired by peace, love and the hemp revolution. Time to bust out the 60s wardrobe.
La Vita e` Bella
Feel like a Roman holiday? From Tuesday to Thursday, Amok and Cicio Cacio are bringing a taste of Italy to Aro Valley. Promising pasta, snacks and delicacies from chefs Tom Millott and Giulio Ricatti, this Italian feast at Garage Project will transport you to the Mediterranean. Also expect lashings of natural wine and specially brewed Garage Project beers.
Milk and cookies
Bacon and eggs, peanut butter and jelly, milk and cookies: the latter classic food pairing is the focus of this special Visa Wellington On a Plate pop-up. From now until August 28 (10am Wednesday-Saturday, with late nights Thursday and Friday), Le Samourai on Tory St will be transformed into a temple of crumbly, chewy cookies and Lewis Road Creamery flavoured milks.
