Grace Bentley-Tsibuah shares her on-set tricks for how to sculpt and conceal like a pro.

COMPILED BY LARA DALY

Emerging New Zealand actor Grace Bentley-Tsibuah has had a busy few years in front of the camera and on the stage.

You might recognise Bentley-Tsibuah from her impressive recent performance as Cleo alongside Batanai Mashingaidze in the awardwinning play Seven Methods of Killing Kylie Jenner or from the newly released film Nude Tuesday, starring Jemaine Clement.

Her talents as a performer aside, BentleyTsibuah has picked up some pro beauty tips from film sets, and found herself as an accidental makeup artist at times, learning how to strategically mix concealers, contour her face and choose sunscreens that don’t leave a white cast on her complexion.

Here she shares her skincare-first philosophy and her everyday glam routine, with the desert island makeup products she can’t live without.

1. Nars Radiant creamy concealer, $49 If

I had to take one product to an island it would be this concealer. I use two shades – Biscuit under my eyes and Caramel for hyperpigmentation that’s usually on my chin and forehead. I don’t actually wear foundation, just concealer really. That’s also good for the stage because then your skin can breathe.

2. Pyunkang Yul Mist Toner, $25 I mist this on my face every day after I shower. Don’t know if it does much but I love it.

3. Missha All Around Safe Block Essence SPF45, $25 This step is very important. I used to always have bad reactions to sunblock but this one seems to do the trick. And it doesn’t give a white cast on dark skin.

4. Stila Stay All Day Dual-Ended Liquid Liner, $49 Love a sharp wing to draw my eyes out a bit. This one is great because it’s clean, you can get a good line with it. No mess, and it stays on pretty well.

5. Youth to the People Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Mask, $84 I love this product but I only use it when I feel my skin needs some love and in the morning I look like a new person.

6. Nars Bronzing Powder in Laguna, $29 After my concealer, I bronze along my cheekbones, jawline and on my forehead. I learnt how to contour from makeup artist Luci Hare.

7. Nars Blush in Dolce Vita, $49 This blush helps me to look cute and like I am alive.

8. Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Lip Liner in Medium, $35 and 9. Dior Lip Maximiser in Berry, $64 I found this lip combo last year. I was doing a lip liner with lipstick, but that was a lot to wear every day. One day I tried the lip liner with the gloss over top and boom bam, new combo.
