EYE TWITCHING

WHAT IT MAY MEAN: Dehydration, sleep deprivation or eye strain

Twitchy eyelids that frequently flicker are common and can be the result of tiredness, dehydration or muscle fatigue – from too much screen time or close work such as DIY or reading – or stress. WHAT TO DO: Twitching often disappears of its own accord, but Edmonds says that applying a warm compress to the eye area can help to soothe it. Meanwhile, try to improve your sleep and your water intake. If eye twitches persist for more than two weeks, it could indicate conjunctivitis or dry-eye syndrome, so see an optician.
