Fox, Alker strike form early in season debuts

NZ’s Steven Alker (69-67) trailed US leader Steve Stricker (68-60) by eight shots in their season opener on the Seniors PGA tour in Hawaii yesterday. Stricker’s 12 birdies saw him flirt with 59, but he narrowly lipped out on 16. Kiwi No 1 Ryan Fox (71-66) is three shots behind Italy’s Guido Migliozzi (65-69) and Francesco Molinari (67-67) on the DP World Tour in Abu Dhabi. Fox fired early with four birdies in six holes and added two more coming home. NZ’s Daniel Hillier (72-68) is three-under after four late birdies.
