Covid charge for cop

An Auckland police officer has been charged with breaching the Covid-19 Public Health Order by allegedly travelling between alert levels during the Delta outbreak. The 48-year-old man, whose occupation is listed on court documents as a police officer, is alleged to have breached the order by taking impermissible travel between alert areas on November 5, last year in Taupō. At the time, Auckland was in level 3 and the rest of the country was in level 2. He is set to appear in the Auckland District Court in December.
