BusinessNZ ticked off

Auckland mayor Phil Goff has slammed BusinessNZ for altering a United Nations document to imply New Zealand had been found to be in breach of international labour law. Goff said it was ‘‘completely unacceptable’’ to alter the title of a report to change its meaning and confirmed a ‘‘please explain’’ letter to BusinessNZ chief executive Kirk Hope had been sent yesterday morning. On Monday, BusinessNZ claimed the Fair Pay Agreement Bill had landed New Zealand on an international ‘‘naughty list’’ of the 40 ‘‘worst case breaches’’ of international labour treaties.
