GrimshawSargeson Fellowship

Published authors are invited to submit an application to live in the historic Sargeson Centre in Auckland. Entries for the 2023 GrimshawSargeson Fellowship have opened and the winning writer will receive a $20,000 prize and be able to live in the centre to focus on writing fulltime. The award has been offered for 36 years. Acclaimed writers Nathan Joe and Dr Anna Jackson were recipients of last year’s fellowship. Joe used it to work on his newest plays Personal Essays and Gay Death Stocktake, while Jackson used her tenure to revise her short novel After Apple-Picking and write her poem Sunlit. Applications close on November 1. The tenure takes place between February and October next year. More information grimshaw.co.nz/aboutus/grimshaw-sargeson-fellowship
