Chung impresses
It is disappointing to note that the media coverage of the race to be Wellington’s mayor has been restricted, in themain, to just three of the candidates – a Labour Party hack, a former Green Party official, and the incumbent, who has been part of the council’s stagflation over the past 30 years.
Gill Kerr’s letter (Sept 29) confirmed my impression of candidate Ray Chung.
On the few occasions when I have met Mr Chung he has demonstrated qualities whichwould benefit the city. He is genuinely friendly, has a solid business pedigree, is energetic and, most importantly, a good listener. He is intelligent and articulate.
If Wellington electors in general have any nous theywill vote him into office. At the very least, his local ward peoplemust ensure that his voice is heard around the council table.
