Sightings of vehicle sought

Police investigating the death of Lower Hutt man Craig McKelvie have found a car they were looking for, but they are still appealing for more sightings of it. McKelvie was found with critical injuries at a house on Mason St in Lower Hutt on October 14 after he was seriously assaulted. Detective Senior Sergeant Martin Todd, who appealed for information on a black 2004 Honda Odyssey with the registration JCT923 in November, said yesterday the vehicle was found at an address in Lower Hutt after a tip-off from the public. ‘‘From examining the vehicle and revisiting information given to us by the public we were able to execute a search warrant in Lower Hutt [on Thursday],’’ he said. Todd said detectives were interested in movements of the Honda in the Moera area on October 14 and between Moera and Naenae from October 21 and 23. He also thanked members of the public who had come forward with information and assisted with the investigation.
