‘Pitchfest’ to be held in Wellington

A pitchfest will be held in January at Wellington to help creatives make their ideas become a reality. People must submit ideas to Wellington-based animation studio Floating Rock by January 14. Then, co-founders of Floating Rock will choose the top 10 ideas. Each will receive $2500 and be invited to pitch their ideas in person on January 28 at the Roxy in Miramar. The voting panel will be made up of the Floating Rock team plus special guests. They will then vote for the top three ideas. Those three will receive $10,000 and, with Floating Rock resources, be able to focus on the development of the story structure and visual exploration over four months. One person will progress to the final round and will have another four months to focus on assembling the pitch and any visual production with a budget of $100,000. They will then be able to pitch to distributors. Every four months for a year Floating Rock will accept another 10 submissions and go through the process again.
