Outstanding Environment Management Winner: Josh Blazek

JOSH Blazek has worked in forest operations for just over four years, and has produced outstanding results for Farman Turkington Forestry. Josh is the inventor of the ‘‘Blazek Bridge’’, a unique design that can be lowered into a watercourse to lesson environmental damage, and was instrumental in the Oterei River restoration project; the only one of its kind in NZ. He has brought innovation and dedication to successful environmental outcomes for his company, which considers him a key asset. In a sector struggling with environmental risks, he has been called ‘‘a legend’’ and a ‘‘master of his profession’’. Josh cares deeply about the environment, and the forestry sector is learning how to take environmental management in new directions.
