Mega-landlords

So, we have mega-landlords. Whoever would have thought that? Some time ago a certain National politician suggested we as a society should abandon residential rental property in favour of producer shares. A meritorious idea.

However, that ignored another meritorious idea: who would own the rental properties that an occupier could not own, desired not to own, or otherwise chose to rent?

So with the demise of certain incentives of tax and other minor wealth creation methods, only those with some wealth could create more wealth while lowly classes are further relegated to state support in their post-working years. It seems to me that if we superannuitants were more selfsufficient, property wealth-wise, the State could be relieved of a portion of its commitment; some of which is high rent prices.
