Accepting massacres

On Tuesday, an 18-year-old gunman attacked Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, killing at least 19 children and two adults.

Pro-gun advocates in the United States are clearly willing to accept repetitive massacres as simply the price of doing business.

It is ironic that those who have worked so hard to pack courts with anti-abortion judges, who insist every embryo is sacred, whether it is the product of rape or will kill its mother, are frequently the self-same people who freak out at the most tepid gun control measures, despite 19 dead kids (and all those who have gone before).

This is the morality of the sociopath, insofar as they oppose actions that negatively affect others only when it doesn’t cost them anything.
