Distressing decision

The snowflake society has gone too far.

(Teacher opts to retire after court decision, August 11)

Of course the teacher had every right to remove the headphones from the student who was not listening.

That it has gone to court is farcical. That he had to defend his actions is outrageous. That the courts are condoning bad behaviour is saddening indeed.

Who would now want to join the teaching profession when you can lose your life savings defending yourself from an obnoxious child.

Did the parents support the child’s behaviour? Free education is a privilege paid for from our taxes. It is distressing that the profession cannot be supported by the courts.
