Speed changes

I do hope central, regional and local government have been discussing the proposed lower speed limits in Christchurch. Because travel times will mostly become longer, there is a risk with public transport.

On some routes that longer time will mean that an extra bus will be required to meet the objective of a bus every, say, 15 minutes. Lengthening the frequency of buses may just be counterproductive and put people off using public transport.

How many more buses will need to be bought? And they will need drivers; something that has been in short supply recently. Of course we could just add bus drivers to the occupations given priority by Immigration.
