Corner complaint

I have spent the better part of the last 10 days watching World Cup football while wrestling with long Covid. The football has been brilliant as players like Mbappe,

Messi, and Lewandowski thrill with their skills. I think the world is a better place when football is on and the media would do well to highlight it, instead of what passes for political comment these days.

But one thing irks me, and that is the placement of the ball by players when taking a corner. In football the whole ball has to cross the line to be out, but not with corners it seems. The ball is often placed outside the marked area and nobody bats an eye. A small thing I know, but irritating.
