SHARE THE ROAD - MACAULAY FORD (SRM)

James Jubb is on his 15th SBS Bank Tour of Southland this year, but it will be a different experience this time around, as he was on the back of a motorbike as race photographer every other time he has been at the tour. He is not new to riding a bike though, having set national masters records on the track and taken numerous medals and titles. This time around, it is about creating his own memories, rather than capturing memories for others. Sam Ritchie is another rider who has switched from one bike to another, although in his case it is from a mountain bike to a road bike. This will be his third Tour of Southland. Matt Zenovich is a rider with a big local fan base, and is known for his attacking riding and a sharp eye for picking the right move - a set of skills that has earned him many days in the green jersey and most combative jersey in the past. Although he professes a more laid back approach to his racing this year, all bets are off once the flag drops. Jake Marryatt is a time trial and hill climb specialist, and was second on the Coronet Peak stage in 2019, so could be one to watch on The Remarkables. Blake Tait-Jones is a local lad who has raced the last six tours, and has finished as high as 26th overall in 2019. Brehan Cairns decided to return to the sport after six years, and could find no better motivation than lining up for one of the toughest races out there.
