With some strong performances at club road nationals in the time trial and road races over a number of years, Andrew Hagan brings some great road going experience to the team. Callum Kennedy races everything from mountain bike enduro to track, enjoying regular success in Wellington cross country races, while also taking a tilt at the New Zealand Cycle Classic earlier this year. He will be making his debut in the tour this year, having never been to Invercargill before, despite growing up just up the road in Dunedin. According to his team mates, David Weaver’s real claim to fame is living up to his surname going up Bluff Hill on his tour debut a couple of years ago. He will be hoping for an easier ride to the top this time around. Jack Polley is a keen Zwift racer, riding for the for Toyota Cryo RDT Elite E-Sports racing Team, with a background in mountain biking. His favourite discipline is the time trial so he will be looking forward to stage 7. Josh Courtis has his sights set firmly on The Remarkables, believing that long climbs are the best climbs, which is a view not necessarily shared by all of his team mates. He hopes that the wind and rain in Wellington would have prepared him at least partially for what is on offer in Southland. Matthew Cryer has been racing bikes on and off for the last nine year, spending two years with the British Army road cycling team in 2014 and 2015. He is back for another crack at the tour.
