Rain watch issued for Fiordland

MetService has issued a heavy rain watch for Fiordland, north of Doubtful Sound, from 1am today until 1pm tomorrow. The forecaster says warning amounts of rain may affect the area, and it is likely that the watch will be upgraded to a warning closer to the time. Meanwhile, further north, forecaster WeatherWatch is predicting a deluge may dump half a metre of rain in three days on the West Coast, with potentially half a metre of rain (500mm) in the mountains.
