Tamaki to appeal remand in custody
Destiny Church leader Brian Tamaki has been remanded in custody until January 27 after allegedly breaching his bail conditions by attending a Christchurch protest. Tamaki is already facing multiple charges of breaching the Covid-19 Public Health Order and breaching bail conditions after attending three separate demonstrations against vaccine mandates and lockdowns in the Auckland Domain. He has pleaded not guilty to the existing charges and also pleaded not guilty in the Auckland District Court yesterday to being in breach of his bail conditions on January 8. Lawyer Ron Mansfield said he would appeal his client’s remand in custody and seek an earlier breach of bail hearing.
