Investigation into house fire
A fire investigator examined the scene of a house fire in Ranfurly yesterday. Fire and Emergency New Zealand was contacted at 7.07am, and it dispatched crews from the Ranfurly and Naseby brigades to the fire in Tyrone St. A FENZ spokesperson said the house was well-involved with flames when firefighters arrived. It is believed a diesel burner sparked and started the fire, the spokesperson added. Firefighters were at the scene for nearly two hours.
