Blooming with enthusiasm

Flower show convener Daphne Batt said five growers had submitted 400 entries, the most entries ever. ‘‘It looks amazing,’’ Batt said. One flower can be an entry, but some entries are three flowers together, she said. The event is at the Winton Memorial Hall. The $5 entry price covered the cost of the show, and the show was open from 9am to 3pm, Batt said. Kind weather had borne a good growing season, in particular ‘‘eye-catching’’ golden daffodils, she said.
