New era for Rogers Motorcycles

Rogers Motorcycles has been a Yamaha dealership in Invercargill since 1962, and built a reputation for outstanding service, excellent value for money and an honest, straightup approach.

For the last 20 years Rogers Motorcycles was owned by Kevin and Ann McDonald, but from June 2023 there will be new ownership, Jamie and Claire Croton.

Jamie comes from a background in Road Transport and Plant and Equipment as a technician for over 10 + years.

He has also managed two workshops and is experienced with sales, parts, and service.

He says this has given him the skills and experience to think on his feet and find solutions to keep equipment going in times of need.

Jamie enjoys managing and running workshops, saying; ‘‘Every day is different and presents new problems to be solved.

‘‘I love the challenge that comes with running a workshop.’’

He is excited about taking over Rogers Motorcycles, saying: ‘‘I have always wanted to do this for myself. I have grown up with only ever owning a Yamaha bike, and when this opportunity came about, we felt it was the right thing to do for our family.’’

Claire is a pharmacist in Invercargill and will continue to be a pharmacist during school hours so she can look after their children, Zach aged 9 and Sophie aged 6. She will also be helping out at Rogers whenever she is needed.

Rogers Motorcycles is well known for supporting the farming and agricultural community in Southland, supplying a wide range of new Yamaha farming ATVs, ROVs and AG bikes.

Their inventory also features a large range of new Yamaha road, dirt, and kids’ bikes, while the second-hand range includes various brands across the farming, road and off-road sectors.

While the ownership will be changing, the quality of the service will not, as all the existing staff, who possess unrivalled skills across all facets of the motorcycle industry, are staying at Rogers. Even old owner Kevin will be staying on as part of the team.

The farming sector will continue to be a major part of everyday business at Rogers Motorcycles, who are proud of their long history helping the local farming community.

Great customer service is testament to the knowledge of the friendly team, some of who have notched up over 40 years in the industry.

When it comes to workshop servicing, repairs, and parts, the

Rogers Motorcycles team is incredibly experienced on all motorbike makes and models.

This superior customer service is something Jamie is also passionate about, saying: ‘‘At Rogers Motorcycles, you’ll get outstanding service, excellent value for money and an honest, straight-up approach.

‘‘If you have a problem relating to a motorcycle, ATV or Side by Side, we will have or will find a solution for you.’’

Claire and Jamie’s goals for the business are to continue to provide superior quality service to the existing customers, by offering those little extras, such as a pick-up and drop-off service for all bikes serviced in the workshop.

They also intend to grow the business going forward, and keep up with the latest developments offered in the farming sectors around the Yamaha brand.

They say; ‘‘For us, professional satisfaction stems from going the extra mile to exceed your expectations.’’
