Revamp for bushman

Work is underway to give the bushman sculpture on Waimate’s Queen St a revamp. This will include replacing the log and tidying up the surrounding gardens, the Waimate District Council says. ‘‘Because of this the Bushman has officially gone on leave for the next few weeks and will be enjoying a wellearned rest and facelift at an undisclosed location,’’ a council social media post says. ‘‘The bushman will return to work later next month.’’
