Fire callouts

The cause of a smoke-logged home in Marchwiel is believed to have started in the kitchen, a Fire and Emergency NZ spokesperson said. The emergency service was called to the incident at 5.22pm on Thursday. Two fire trucks attended. At 8.18am yesterday two fire trucks attended a fire at Māori Hill. However, a Fire and Emergency spokesperson said they were unable to provide any further details because of industrial action.
