Cold days inland

People in the Mackenzie Basin have had a cold start to the first week of winter, with temperatures struggling to get above 1C yesterday. Metservice metrologist David Millar said the area around their weather station at Pukaki Airport reached a high of just 1.2C around 2pm, making it one of the coldest spots in the country.And he warned those who felt the cold yesterday were likely to face similar conditions again today.
