Erebus memorial

I support and take my hat off to the peaceful protesters who have put their time into protesting against the pathetic insistence of people who want to bring in the bulldozers to have the Erebus Memorial put in the wrong place (Dove Myer Robinson Park, in Auckland).

I understand that most passengers’ families involved in Erebus are against this site.

There are much better options, it could easily be over and done without all this costly unnecessary time delay.

There are over 15,000 signatures rising against this proposed site.

All it needs is a simple wall containing the names of the crew and passengers who were killed at Erebus, Antarctica.

Other sites for the Memorial could be by the Auckland Museum of Transport and Technology, Auckland Airport Observation public parking site or the Antarctica centre at Christchurch.

I know that my father who was killed in the Erebus crash and had experienced hard times as a pioneer of farming at Aria in the King Country would prefer the much cheaper option to the proposed costly, ugly concrete monstrosity.
